Recycle with ARKET
Textiles should never be thrown away. A lot of unwanted clothes end

Most garments can be repaired or remade to give them a longer life, and if they’re not for you anymore, they could be swapped, resold, passed on to friends and family, or given to charity. As a last alternative, your old clothes can be recycled and returned to the circular fashion loop.
Please bring any textiles to our store and we’ll make sure they will be of new use.
How does it work?
Bring clothing, shoes and home textiles to your nearest ARKET store – from any brand, in any condition. Nothing is too small or too insignificant to be recycled; even the lonely sock in your drawer can be dropped off and given a new purpose. We also accept ARKET product packaging except for take-away packaging from the café.
Pack your unwanted items in bags and bring them to the store. If you want to bring shoes for recycling, please make sure to pair them up with tape or by tying the laces together. Please put ARKET product packaging in a separate bag.
As a reward for your contribution, you will receive a voucher worth 10% off your next purchase in our stores or cafés. You’ll get one voucher per occasion, valid for three months. The voucher cannot be combined with other offers or discounts and is not valid for online purchases.
What happens next?
Textiles and shoes
will be sent to our warehouse using ARKET’s existing logistic network:
the trucks delivering products to the store will return to the warehouse
carrying the goods brought in for recycling. Our partner I:CO collects
all items and will sort them into three major categories depending on
their condition: REWEAR, REUSE or RECYCLE.
Product packaging will be sorted and recycled through the regular waste process of each store.
ARKET does not make any profit on the things you bring in for recycling. Any eventual profit will be donated to the H&M Foundation and invested in social and environmental projects.
I:CO offers garment collection and a sustainable end-of-life solution for used clothing, textiles and shoes. Every day, 300 tons of these unwanted products go through I:CO’s sorting plant in Wolfen, southwest of Berlin. Each item is sorted by hand and manually categorised according to 420 different criteria, based on quality and material.
