Upon your request we will process your personal data in order to provide you with promotions from us and from other brands of the H&M Group.
How do we use your personal data?
We will communicate with you either through email or text-message, or in your Brand account where our promotions will be displayed in your web browser. If you are a user of a social media platform you may even hear from us in your feed. To be able to identify you in these different channels we use your name and email – address. If you have chosen to receive promotion through SMS, then we use your phone number to be able to communicate with you.
In order to make promotions even more relevant to you we may personalise the content before we send it based on what we know (or perceive we know) about your interests and preferences. Personalisation also comes through analyzing and predicting aspects concerning your interests, preferences, behavior etc., by making use of a combination of data about you such as your personal details and shopping history as well as data from third parties.
For social media advertising we use target group definitions provided by the social media platform provider. We use target group definitions on the basis of general demographic details, behaviour, interests and connections. We may also use data from web site “cookies” (first- and third-party cookies), pixels and plug-ins and similar technologies tracing the websites you have used recently, your clicks and likes. Who has access to your personal data?
We may share your personal data within the H&M Group. Data will also be shared, when necessary, with third party communication providers, media agencies and technical suppliers for analytics, content creation and distribution.
To be able to provide you with promotions in your personal social media feed we will use listing-services such as custom audience. To do so we will match your contact details for instance email address with the social media platform such as Facebook, Google, Snapchat etc. We will use a hashing technique to make sure we handle your data in a secured way. Any social media or communication service provider is responsible for their own personal data processing activities.
Except as explicitly stated herein, we never pass on, sell or swap your data to any third parties.
What is the legal ground to process your personal data?
The processing of your personal data is based on your consent when you agree to receive promotions from us and from other H&M Group brands.
How long do we keep your data?
We will use your personal data no longer than necessary. Personal data solely collected and used for the purpose of providing you with promotions will be erased upon the withdrawal of your consent or your request for erasure.
However, we may continue to keep and use your data if we have outstanding obligations to you or by any other reasons are prevented from erasure, for example if you have an open order or unsettled debt.
Your right to withdraw your consent?
If you don’t want to receive any further promotions, you have the right at any time to withdraw your consent.
As an alternative mean you can also stop us sending promotions in your social media feed, by configuring the privacy settings of the social media platform.
Regardless of above, we will stop sending promotions in you channels if you haven’t opened any emails from us during the last year.
