Re:Down

Based in California, France, and Hungary, Re:Down produces lightweight, insulating filling materials from recycled down and feathers.

Recycling down is not a novel innovation. Historically, it was common to clean and reuse down from pillows, duvets, and other products; it was how you made the most of an expensive resource.

The Re:Down factory is located in Hungary. The recycled down is collected from sleeping bags and pre-used home textiles. It is first sorted and separated into feathers and clusters of fine down, then washed using only soap and natural thermal water, and sterilised at a high temperature to ensure a clean filling material.

The best down is regenerated for garments and home textiles, but a total of 97% of all collected materials are recycled for different applications, including non-woven insulation and organic fertilisers.
