Accessibility statement

At H&M Group, a global fashion and design company, we are committed to making style and quality accessible to everyone. We strive to ensure our digital platforms (arket.com) are accessible to all users. We strive to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard to ensure an inclusive experience. However, we acknowledge that our digital platforms are currently partially conformant, meaning that some content does not fully meet the requirements of the WCAG 2.2 Level AA standard.  

 

How accessible are the digital platforms?

arket.com partially meets the requirements of the WCAG 2.2 Level AA standard.  

 

Identified areas for improvement include: 

 

  • Certain elements are not placed within appropriate landmarks 

  • Content may be obscured by fixed elements when zoomed to 400% 

  • Country code dropdown may not respond correctly to autofill 

  • Customer service chat button can be difficult to locate 

  • Focus order in the main navigation does not follow a logical path 

  • Header links may overflow when text size is increased 

  • Invalid list structure in the main navigation  

  • Klarna payment modal remains active even when visually hidden 

  • The mega menu close button does not return focus to the opening element 

  • The mega menu lacks an aria-expanded attribute 

  • Skip link to bypass navigation is currently missing 

  • Scrolling promotional text cannot be paused or controlled 

  • Some heading levels are used inconsistently 

  • Empty headings are present in some areas of the code 

  • Text may appear too small on certain mobile devices 

How we improve our digital platforms  

 

We are actively working to resolve the accessibility gaps as part of our ongoing commitment to accessibility. Our digital platforms have been reviewed by an external party and improvements are made in accordance with the findings. Our team is continuously assessing and improving our digital platforms to enhance usability for all users. This Accessibility Statement will be updated as we make improvements to our digital platforms.
