For this piece – a boxy overshirt with barrel-shaped sleeves in a broken white shade – stitched knife pleats create an all-over texture reminiscent of soft waves. The design is intentionally simple, allowing repetition and intricate detailing to produce depth and a subtle sense of expression. The base fabric is tightly woven for a crisp and refined touch, yet it has a super-soft handfeel. The use of pleating is inspired by Laila Gohar's world of textiles and handicraft, including folded napkins and delicate origami shapes.
