During the creation of our collaboration, Laila Gohar kept returning to the idea of a full-body silhouette where wide, voluminous bottoms are contrasted and complemented by slimmer tops. It’s how she prefers to dress herself, and it is a principle that runs as a common thread throughout the collection. This cropped shirt is a clear expression of that idea – inspired by classic menswear shirting, it is made from crisp cotton poplin, woven into a light blue and white stripe. The dropped neckline creates a relaxed openness around the collarbone, lending the silhouette a softer line. A large patch pocket sits on the left chest, finished with a red embroidered LG monogram – a reference to personalised napkins and home linen from past times. The shirt is designed to pair with the ARKET and Laila Gohar Lace-Trim Shorts as a complete set.

Another example of how opposing energies and traditional contrasts come together in the collection, these sheer knee-length socks draw on the interplay between feminine and masculine, historical and modern, sensual and functional, luxurious and everyday. Made from a super-delicate mulberry silk yarn, with a small amount of nylon added for durability, the socks are knitted in a loose, airy rib and decorated with an LG monogram, intentionally placed unevenly on the left and right leg. The socks are presented in a custom paper envelope.

Inspired by vintage, monogrammed knickers and personalised undergarments, they are made using a blend of cotton and Ecovero™ viscose, knitted from fine 16-gauge yarn in a full-needle stitch, which gives the briefs a firm and comfortably snug fit. An elasticated waist is finished with an embroidered LG monogram in bright red.
