women The business wardobe

As we revisit the business wardrobe for A/W 2022, we invited Jo Ellison, celebrated Editor of the Financial Times’ HTSI magazine, to guest edit our collection and take us on a personal journey through modern office clothing. Naturally, the result is a wisdom-filled account of the contemporary codes of business attire.

01 A dress

‘Very often I'll have an event in the evening which will require a quite formal outfit, and I'm just not the sort of person who likes to change multiple times through the day.’

02 Outerwear

’I like to look for elegant fabrics and rich materials that make you feel nurtured and caressed.’

03 Jeans

’I do wear jeans all the time. It just needs to be a good cut. Really full sweeping trousers are coming back and I'm very happy to get behind that movement.’

04 Blazer

’Key garments for me are very simple. Round neck tops, especially in autumn. Well-cut trousers, quite wide. And you need a great blazer. I love blazers.’

Material

Recycled cashmere

As autumn comes, it’s time to turn to classic knits. Blended with RWS-certified merino wool for durability and strength, our recycled cashmere gives the luxurious feel and natural warmth of conventional cashmere, but with a lighter footprint on the planet.

BREAD IN HAND

Together with ARKET’s new bread supplier – BAK, we are on a mission to showcase that the use of organic heritage crops and manual techniques not only makes sense from a sustainability perspective, but also because the final product simply tastes and feels better.

The grid is an essential element of our visual identity. It represents the notion of the archive and is used to organise and display information ranging from the names of plants to fabric weights and different types of materials used in our collections. These nine squares symbolise the separate parts that together form our world, and they are also the areas where we strive to make a difference.
