The collection of children’s outerwear is built-up in layers to suit different and changing weather. Using soft merino wool, recycled polyester, Thermore® Ecodown® and high-quality stretch nylon, the garments are made for play and everyday wear during the autumn, winter and spring seasons. The separate pieces are designed in simple colour scales with comfortable and allowing fits, to function both practically and aesthetically as combined layers.


Welded Seams

Welded seams are widely used in water-resistant and waterproof functional clothing, to avoid the presence of stitch holes and thus the risk of moisture penetrating the seam. Two pieces of material are fused together using heat and pressure to create a durable, airtight and watertight sealing – as opposed to sewing, taping or using adhesives or fasteners. The method is common on polyurethane-coated fabrics where the plastic itself is used as fastener in the weld.

Taped Seams

Taping seams is necessary to ensure that needle-stitched garments are fully waterproof. A strong synthetic tape with glue backing is applied by heat-sealing on the inside of the garment, to cover the needle holes. The tape also adds to the strength and durability of the seam. A garment can be fully taped or feature taping only on ‘critical seams’, typically at the neck, shoulders and hood.



The purpose of a windproof garment is to help insulation by stopping moving air from breaking the body’s own heat layer, and thus preventing the warm air from disappearing. Windproofing is achieved either by a densely-woven fabric structure or, as in water-resistant outerwear, by sealing the inside of the fabric with an impenetrable membrane.



On both water-resistant and waterproof garments, the fabric is coated or laminated on the inside to hinder rain and moisture from penetrating the textile. The fabric surface is treated to repel water. Waterproof garments have sealed seams; on water-resistant garments, critical seams are sealed.

Thermore® is an Italian expert in sustainable thermal insulation technology, founded in Milan in 1972. In the 1980s, Thermore® was the first to introduce a thermal insulation made from recycled PET bottles. The company’s Ecodown® is made exclusively from recycled post-consumer plastic water bottles and offers a soft, warm and durable alternative to down feathers. Depending on the application, a garment insulated with Ecodown® allows recycling of up to ten PET bottles. Thermore® padding is Bluesign and PETA approved.

Recycled polyester

Recycled polyester is commonly made from post-consumer PET. Often found as plastic bottles, PET is processed, polymerised, spun and knitted or woven to create a wrinkle-resistant fabric that is easy to care for. The regenerated yarn holds the same properties as virgin polyester; it is strong, resilient and durable, with excellent moisture-wicking qualities, and can be recycled repeatedly.

Conventional polyester is man-made from petrochemicals. As one of the most heavily produced fabrics in the world, it requires large amounts of water, chemicals and energy to produce. Recycled polyester takes less energy to make than virgin polyester, and helps to divert plastic bottles from ending up in a landfill.
